To spare you from the usual 3rd person language
found on an “About” page, I’ll just tell you myself.
As an  ”Online Conversion Consultant” (my fancy
pretentious title), I work with mid & small sized
businesses and entrepreneurs to show them how
to turn their website traffic into leads and sales.

No Awards or Merit Badges…

I’ve never earned any merit badges or awards for the work I’ve done.   Most
awards in my industry are given to someone for being creative, for creative
sake, not usually because of the bottom-line result they achieved (because
that would be really shallow and arrogant, right?).

Well, if you wanna call me shallow and arrogant, feel free, because I’m happy
to share with you a few of the results that I’ve helped my clients achieved…

  • 600% conversion increase for opt-ins in under 48 hours from landing
    page make-over
  • Over $4k in sales & 850 email opt-ins in 30 min on a $10 product from
    one email
  • 28.3% boost in phone sales in under 24 hours (that was with an ugly
    website too)
  • 33% increase in call in appointments within just 3 days after copy
    makeover
  • 20+yr veteran copywriters hiring me to critique their own sales copy
  • Multiple website development companies hiring me to help them with
    their own
    online conversion
  • <Insert cheesy “And so much more!”>

Obsession or Addiction?

First off,  I must say, I absolutely love what I do :)

This is truly my dream job (or at least of one of them)!!  The reason it so
much is NOT because internet marketing is cool and trendy, but because,
frankly, I’m obsessed with this stuff.  Seriously – I don’t just dabble in the
subject of internet marketing, and work on other things on the side – I live
and breathe this stuff.

But before you call me crazy, you should know that I’m extremely passionate
about many other things, particularly my wife, my kids, and my personal
beliefs.  However, beyond one other subject, I am crazy (OK, now you can
call me crazy) about the subject of internet marketing.

I’ve got many friends and colleagues that love to study it and all, but frankly
none of them could be considered “clinically” addicted to the study and
practice of internet marketing, and more so the science of online conversion,
as I am.

The “Slippery Slope”

I must admit, before I got hooked on internet marketing, my personal
“gateway drug” was my simple but intense passion for understanding the
human mind – psychology.  Now, I never went to school for it – in fact, my
major in college was acting and theater (hence the dramatic explanation).
But ever since I was little, I never stopped asking “why?”.

In the midst trying to understand what makes humans tick, I also became
very interested in learning the sciences of communication.  And growing up
in Southern California, and having been exposed to several types of cultures
and languages, I became super fascinated by the wonderfully different ways
people from all over the world communicated with each other. And this love
for communication branched out so many other ways.

From trying to mimic accents (embarrassing confession – I often do this by
myself in my car) or picking up a phrases in multiple different languages , I
was constantly trying to learn how to communicate more effectively with
others, no matter where they were from or what worldview they held.

And throughout my years of working in sales within the telecommunications,
real estate and insurance industry, my interest and affection for marketing
and internet marketing grew, and quite rapidly too. I dived right in, and
absorbed everything I could find, some good, some bad.  But once I was able
to cut through all the filth and 2nd class information, since 2005, I’ve kept
my focus on listening, studying, practicing and testing only the stuff that
REALLY works.

On a Personal Note…

I’m happily married and madly in love with my wife ,
Correna (of 11 years).  We have 2 kids – Adeline (6) &
Elliot (4), who I am extremely passionate about and
in love with as well.   I’ve lived in Wisconsin for about
12 years now, but I was born and raised in Orange Co.
California for 23 years.

In comparison to living in  CA (another reason why
people think I’m crazy), life is so much better in a place
where you don’t necessarily have to leave the city to
breath actual fresh clean air.

Plus here, you get to not only experience the seasons, but you appreciate the
change even more. I was very naive (like many “Coasties”) to think that Madison,
WI was just another hicktown in the thick of the fields of cheeseland, USA, where
things move really slowly and the folks out here just don’t know much “bout”
anything outside the farm. Come to find out though, Madison is consistently
rated one of the smartest cities in the nation, and it’s nationally recognized as
one of best places to live in the country every year. That’s all for now.

I really appreciate you taking interest :-)
